Protein palmitoylation
in healthy and diseased brain
2nd-3rd September 2024
ABOUT
Warsaw Doctoral School in Natural and Biomedical Sciences
and
the Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology Polish Academy of Sciences
cordially invite you to an Advanced Lecture Series entitled:
"Protein palmitoylation in healthy and diseased brain"
Protein palmitoylation is a crucial process regulating protein functions in the brain. In recent years, it has been shown that dysfunctions in this process can lead to significant disruptions in neuronal physiology and contribute to the pathophysiological states associated with psychiatric and neurological disorders, including neurodegenerative diseases. Therefore, understanding the mechanisms of protein palmitoylation and its role in the brain pathology is essential for developing new therapeutic strategies. The subject of this research is challenging and methodologically limited. This lecture series aims to present current research problems in brain protein palmitoylation and is open to everyone interested.
It is highly recommended to all Warsaw-4-PhD students! Attending PhD students can earn 1 ECTS.
This event is supported by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange, grant no. BPI/STE/2021/1/00034/U/00001
